Fatima’s journey into mental healthcare was driven by a desire to lower the stigma surrounding mental health, particularly within the Latinx community. Growing up in an environment where mental health was often dismissed or left undiscussed, she felt a calling to normalize the conversation. Having spent childhood summers in Michoacán, Mexico, Fatima developed a deep connection to her cultural identity and a firsthand understanding of the unique challenges faced by the Latino community. She entered the field to provide a safe space where individuals can build resilience and access the tools they need to heal.
Fatima’s style is rooted in validation, safety, and collaboration. She believes that the strongest healing happens when a client feels truly seen and heard without fear of judgment. Her approach is steady and supportive, focusing on processing past experiences while building the resilience needed for personal growth. She views the therapeutic relationship as a partnership, guiding her clients to set clear, achievable goals that are tailored to their unique life stories
“My goal is to help you feel validated and understood so we can work together to address your concerns and promote healing. When we set goals together, I’ll guide you to create ones that are clear, specific, achievable, and collaborative. We’ll develop a plan tailored to your unique needs.”
Outside of the office, Fatima loves connecting with friends over a good meal and is an avid reader who can often be found browsing the aisles at Barnes & Noble. She enjoys watching cooking shows—secretly hoping she’ll magically absorb all the professional skills through the screen. Fatima also has a passion for traveling to new places to immerse herself in different cultures.
